I'm sorry about Sheldon:(

I would recommend disinfecting the whole tank and everything in it before trying again with a new betta just in case theres a disease in the tank
also if you can try a different petshop

Good luck with your next betta

If I had two Bettas die within two or three days in the same tank I would suspect something's wrong with the tank itself. Might be substrate; might be decor.

Was the tank new? Did you clean it between Bettas?

What's in your other aquarium? Can you put your Betta in there?

Tank is 2 weeks new and cleaned it both times :)

I put my Rasboras and Neon Tetras in my big tank and adding gourami's this week, so never planned keeping bettas in my large tank.

Sounds like you did everything right. I'd be very discouraged too. Hope the third time is a charm.

I was thinking you could put the Betta in the big tank; do a fishless cycle in the small one and then move the Betta. You could wait to add the Gouramis to the bigger tank after the Betta is moved to the smaller one.
