Low pH causing problems????

Housing
What size is your tank? 10 Gallon

What temperature is your tank? 72-74

Does your tank have a filter? Yes, not on to keep flow of water stable

Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? no

Is your tank heated? With hot bottled water, my heater broke and i contacted the company and they said i will be getting it in 2 weeks. I'm going out tomorrow to get a heater i can't really wait with this kind of weather..

What tank mates does your betta fish live with? None, just plants

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? Omega One pellets

How often do you feed your betta fish? He hasn't eaten in 2 days, but 2 pellets at night

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? Every Saturday

What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 30%-40%

What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Algae control, prime,

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?

Ammonia: .25 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate: 0 ppm
pH: 6.6????? Will this cause problems?? How can i raise it to 7.6 or 7
Hardness: N/A
Alkalinity: N/A

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? Tail biting

How has your betta fish's behavior changed? Hiding, not moving a lot, not
eating, not up at the top floating in his plants.

When did you start noticing the symptoms? It's been 3 or 4 days

Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? I don't know whats wrong..

Does your fish have any history of being ill? Nope

How old is your fish (approximately)? Been with me for 6 months

He hasn't been moving or eating. He doesn't float in his plants at the top, he hides in a house that he has never been in at all. The only thing that has changed since he changed was adding root tabs, plants, growth on algae, no heater but like i said doing hot bottled water. His gills are deep "breathes out" but slow. When he goes to the top for air he goes really fast and back into his cave. Please help Rubin

I would STOP the Algae Fix. What is your source water pH? I would probably step up my water changes to 2 a week. The low pH can be indication of a water quality issue

I use my sink water which is from the city and i actually tested my water and my pH was 7 so i figured it had to do with something with the tank..
