I'm a newbie betta owner...in fact, I don't actually own one yet! I've asked my hubby for a tank kit (heater, filter, etc included) for Christmas. My plan is to get my Betta after I've set the tank up and stabilized everything.
So here's my question: Is there such thing as too big a tank for a Betta? The kits I've been eyeing start at 10 gallons and go up from there. I was thinking of getting the 20 gallon as I'd like my Betta to have plenty of room. I might get him a few compatible tank mates down the road, assuming the Betta I get has a personality that lends itself to sharing a tank. Is 20 gallons too big? What would water changes be like with a single Betta? I'd really like to create a lovely habitat for my Betta to enjoy and I think the 20 gallon would be able to house more scenic stuff.
The tank kit I was looking at were the Marineland kits
, in case anyone has experience with those.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide :)
