Post Vacation- Will my fish be okay for a week?

So I have to go out-of-state for a week. I really can't find anyone else who will be in town and can take care of Friedrich. D:

Will he be okay by himself for a week, unfed? Or should I keep looking?

Depending on the tank size and if it is cycled, water quality would be more of an issue than food, these guy can go several weeks without food, but water quality can be problematic, but if he is in a filtered, 1.5-2g or larger tank make a good water change the night before you leave and give a good feeding, turn off the light, depending on the heater type sometimes it is safer to unplug them and leave the light on instead, getting a little cold is better than being cooked if something was to happen.

If he's not going to be fed then no waste will be produced so water quality won't be that big of an issue.

You still have residual waste produced and urea from respiration

He's in a 3.5 gallon. It's not filtered - I do have a filter but whenever I set it up and turn it on he sticks to it. Like, just floats over and sticks on there. And it freaks me out. :I

He does have a heater set to 76 degrees? Or 78. High 70's.

Is the heat the pre set type, if so leave it on, I would not use the filter, make a good water change and feed him before you leave and when you get back feed and make another water change, he should be fine if he is a healthy fish to start with.

Yep, it's pre-set.
OK, I'll do at least a 50% before I leave and feed him nicely- not that I don't do that already. :)

He'll be fine :) I would suggest feeding him less actually.. I always lower the amount of food I feed my guys before I leave (for instance they only got 2 pellets at dinner tonight and won't be getting any breakfast before I leave tomorrow)
