Question breeders please help!!

a couple of questions if any one could answer I would be very grateful thank you. Is it possible to have a female breed with a male who is slightly smaller? and how big does the bubble nest have to be before letting the female free into the breeding tank?

Males that are smaller will have a harder time getting themselves around the bigger females...bubble nests should be quite big before letting the female go. Hope this helped!

It may be hard but I've done it before with my bettas and put a styrofoam cup cut in half or IAL ( Indian almond leaf) and let him blow a bubble nest until he stops when he stops let her out

Some males have been known to breed without a bubblenest.

Do not rely on bubble nests. Some males make gigantic one layer bubbles while others stack the bubbles into a thick "foam" like nest. Some may never bother making one (currently most of mine are like this). What is important is understanding their body language - what I call flirt swimming.

First time females take around 2-3 days to spawn. It would be safer to release her after having her float for at least 1 day. Some float the female for 3 days, hoping they will spawn almost immediately after released. It doesn't matter how big the nest is, if the female isn't ready, they won't spawn.

I tried to spawn a smaller male to a good size female. It almost worked but the male never got his wrap right so all the eggs went bad. It was both their first time so maybe if I tried again they would have been better.
