The 2.5 gal tank posted above is real nice! That's probably the cheapest one with a power filter.

Petsmart has a 2 gallon with undergravel filter and light on sale for $22 right now.

Petco also has a similar one for $25

To be completely honest.. no matter how good a deal you find on tanks buying a 10 gall and dividing it will be MUCH cheaper in the long run than getting 3 separate tanks. Your talking gravel, plants, decor, heater, and filter (if applicable) for EACH tank.. it adds up fast.

Also one big tank takes up less room than 3 little ones

You can make your own dividers... there's a thread on TFK that I'm sure DQ can link to you (I'm not sure where it is).

Basically you get plastic mesh and essay binders (like that you would turn a paper in with) and just slide the essay binder on the edge of the plastic mesh (all four sides) and silicon it in your tank with aquarium silicon (remember it takes 2 days to dry).

I think that thread says to use the pressure method where the divider is bigger than the tank so it is kind of squeezed in... I prefer to use the aquarium silicon to glue it in.. IMO it looks nicer AND it is MUCH more secure.

O Ya I remember I looked at that one time, looks very nice thanks for the tips. How much do you think a 10 gallon would cost?

Yeah but the OP isn't going to want to divide a 5 gallon into 3rds.. that would be way too small.
