Aquabid to the United Kingdom!???

So I've been looking alot at these site i.e. Aquabid & would love some betta's from there. So i have questions which i hope some of u can answer.....

Whats the deal with it? u bid for the fish? is it based in the U.S?

postage and packaging? how does it work?

do they deliver to the U.K??? would the betta make it alive??? (as most fish from the uk seem to come from thailand etc, does aquabid supply the same transportation regulations for betta's?

am i going to recieve a box of water with the betta in????

hope u can help me see sense with this, cuz ive seen some lovely betta's i'd like to purchase.

what other sites can u purchase betta's from? I'm looking for some crowntail girls, they r EXTREMELY hard to find in the U.K!

I'm interested too, but I've actually never done it, but I know enough about it? Hopefully? Hehe :)

1) Yes you bid for fish. It's not exactly based anywhere, I don't think. It's a website. They can come from US, Canada, very often Thailand, Singapore, who knows. On the betta you click on, it should say where you're getting it from.

2) Well I know there's shipping and handling? And it does come in your regular cardboard box, I believe.

3) You'd have to look for one that is allowed to ship to UK. Some ship internationally, some don't. There's a sort of indicator that SHOULD say if it ships internationally or not. I think they all do. And it helps to get one actually from the UK, in your case.

4) The betta will be in a cup or bag. There'll be some sort of heat pack. Lots of...some sort of padding, so it's not as rough on the betta.

I've only heard of aquabid.com, hehe. Look for a local breeder? I bet if you google you'd find some other betta biddings. I know aquabid is quite popular though. And a crowntail girl?? Never seen one myself IRL. Good luck :)

The fish are shipped in bags, if I'm not mistaken. These bags are put in boxes, I believe. I've never ordered from there but I'm sure someone will come along who has and tell you their experience.

Yeah they are bagged then boxed with a lot of insulation. I'm sure the same shipping standards apply if you buy one off of aquabid. I just bought my first aquabid fish a few weeks ago and it was a very good experience! But mine came from an American breeder, so it wasn't as far of a ship.
