Baby betta jump over the wall!

I have a 2.5gal tank with a divider down the middle with a baby on the right and a older male on the left. Came home from actually buying them a new heater since the water is cold for them, and i saw that he literally jump over about an inch and a half divider to swim with his buddy. I em so shocked he did this!

I hope his buddy didn't eat him are you sure he didn't just go through a hokey in it? If not you might want to drain the water a bit haha

Check to be sure there's no place for him to slip through. You can sew a some craft mesh to the divider horizontally to insure he can't jump anymore. I am assuming there's a lid on the tank.

This is the reason I suggest installing TWO dividers with the filter and heater between them. Also evens out the heat and filter flow.

Waffe,

a 2.5G is really too small for two bettas. Get another one for the baby -- save the trouble dealing with dividers.

I had the exact same problem as yours. The fought until their tails torn. I still have a picture of them because I posted a photo on facebook.

This is what it looks like when they just fought.

And now.. the tail kinda grows back. Phew!

By the way, I solve the problem by keeping the water level low and made sure one wasn't able to swim to the other side.
