Filter and Heater??

Removing the carbon filter doesn't effect your cycle. But it DOES depend what kind you get. If it's carbon and mechanical filtration, if you have a seperate bio-filter it will be fine. If it is pure carbon (and you have a seperate bio-filter), it will be fine. ... I think the main thing is, if you have a bio-filter / sponge, you can remove carbon cartridges in an out without hurting your cycle. I've been doing that for a while, and my cycle has always been fine.

But I'm stopping carbon, it got annoying. Lol :)

I just dumped the carbon out of my whisper in tank filter and am using the "pouch" .. I haven't had a problem with it. My eclipse cartrige I'm going to have to get a sponge or something to put in that pretty soon because its mostly carbon with a tiny layer of sponge on the top.

I have one last carbon cartridge left, but I'm removing all of the carbon and using it as mechanical filtrations. No chemical filtration would be fine, right?

Thank you everyone for you comments :) Momo likes his tank size just fine so I wont be changing that, but I am going to the store today, so I will pick up a heater, a few more plants, and a cave :)
