Yeah kudos for going straight to the manager. They're the ones that should know better... he probably told the girl not to waste her time cleaning the betta bowls and spend more time selling to customers :(

I went to my Petsmart today and this time I was disappointed with them. The bettas' cups were absolutely filthy. I found 3 dead ones and one with sbd. I took the dead ones to the back and set them on a cart they had sitting there. Then I saw the girl that works there and handed her the one with sbd and asked her to put him in the infirmary. She says "I'll have to do it later. I'm too busy right now" and she set him on a cart. I should have asked them to give him to me free and took him home.

Disgusting. I thought their jobs were to take care of fish. Oh, no of course not, their jobs are to make money...!! (And yes I'm aware of the actual GOOD people in Petco/Petsmart. I wish I would meet one :( )

Sorry, whats SBD stand for? Can't think of anything.

Swim bladder disorder? In a CUP? Man, last time my betta got that, he got so, so, so stressed out from trying to swim away from the top... poor thing. Too bad about a good 65% of the bettas here also are found with SBD..

I didn't yell or scream or stomp my feet or anything lol, but I scolded him loudly enough for passersby to stop and listen and for him to blush an avert eye contact.

It felt pretty good to be the voice of those lil smishies. I'm going in on saturday with my camera to check on the situation. Will update.
