Should I get him?

So I have two "slots" left in my divided tanks. Once I fill them I am done.

I was at Petco and there is this beautiful black/copper? (silver overlay) SDT boy there. Very very pretty and I'm assuming would color up to a deeper black and shinier silver in good conditions. He "followed" me around the whole time I was looking at the bettas.. he reminded me a lot of doggyhog's black/green Mikko that passed away... just not HM and silver instead of green.

The only reason I haven't bought him is that a breeder from another forum is supposed send me some pics of his non-breeder/non-show quality bettas that he has for sale.. but it seems like it will be a while before he sends me pics..

I don't know... should I get this guy?? He was really cute... and I don't have an actual black guy... But I'd like to support breeders rather than large pet stores (even tho our local Petco takes good care of their bettas and is VERY responsive to customer concerns...).

What do you guys think??

Yes yes yes! He needs a good home and not just crammed in a bow/vase just to look pretty, that's what happens to the stunners. :(

I say you get him, Petco takes good care of their pets compare to other pet stores.. All my bettas are from Petco and they are healthy.

He sounds like he's gorgeous! If you have the room, I'd get him. I just bought a male from Petco Tuesday night and he isn't doing good at all, I think he has SBD. :( This is the first time I've gotten a sick one from Petco, they're usually in really good health.

Yeah, all of mine area already from Petco and are in decent health (I don't think the one has parasites like I thougth.... he is acting crazy like always, eating, swimming, pooing normal.. I think it was the food I was feeding him). Except for a few neurotic tail biters, my Petco guys are marvelous! Maybe if he is there on Friday I will get him.

oh, btw, I forgot to mention that he is a rosetail (I think)!

I'd say get him if you want to; you can still get a fish from the breeder if they ever send you photos since you said you had two slots left :)

I would get him! Reason one: hes awesome...... Reason two: because if you dont, and you come back and hes no there you will most likely be heart broken ( personal expierence, found a cotton candy colored betta and didnt buy him, went back and he was gone)
