black spots???

About a few weeks ago i got myself a betta at Pet Smart. She is a female with a creamy white body and a sort of burgundy-red fins/tail. I keep her in a small tank (about a gallon maby) woth no filter or heater. She's in the warmest room of the whole house (our house is kinda chilly) and I feed her Top Fin Color Enhancing Betta Bits. Over the time random scales have turned a black-ish color on her. Now on both sides of her body there is a small pach in the middle where it's kind of a checkered pattern. Now that I look closer all of the fins in the pach just have the base of them black... I'm not sure if she si just maturing or if somthing's wrong with her. Please, share all of your knowlege about my problem!!!! I just want the best for my cute little fishy!!!!

It sounds like she may have the marble gene and it is a normal color change can you post a pic?
