Fluval Spec V with Edge pre-filter sponge

What pump settings are people using when using the pre-filter sponge on the outflow? I have mine at medium and it seems a little slow now. Would this be OK? Fishing that return pump out to change the flow setting would be a major pain.

I've got mine on the lowest setting and it seems ok.

I think you still get the flow, it's just diffused through the sponge instead of coming out in a stream.

Thanks, he seems much happier now that I added the pre-filter sponge. Before he was fighting the current and if he stopped he would get pushed back. Now he can stop and hover in a spot if he wants.

I did away with the OEM pump on my Spec altogether and drive the filter with an air pump and lift tube
