New addition to my tank

So some updates: I missed the water changes on my tank for two weeks in a row due to working a lot. Unfortunately this really stressed Bloodgore out and he started to develop a case of fin rot. I was a bad daddy. However I changed the water and did a thorough tank cleaning and now the color is returning to his fins and the white edges are receding. I bought some bettafix but it appears that it won't be necessary as he's healing with just the fresh water.

The better news is I got a ghost shrimp today! My betta and him seem to be getting along. Whenever Bloodgore swims towards the shrimp, the shrimp will back away and then *whoosh* swim to the other side of the tank. He's very busily eating algea whenever my betta leaves him alone for a while. The girlfriend and I decided to name the ghost shrimp Bruce Willis.

Bloodgore is a little mad though because I broke up his bubble nest while floating the shrimp in it's bag.

I'd take some pictures but the shrimp is hiding under the log right now, maybe in a day or two when they've gotten used to each other.

That is a great name, for both of them! I'm glad they're getting along.

So bad news

I thought that the ghost shrimp was big enough that it couldn't get sucked through the slits covering the intake of my filter. Found out tonight that wasn't the case. :(

Planning on getting another and figuring out something to cover the intake with. Cheesecloth maybe?

Also thinking about getting two ghost shrimp next time. Bloodgore tended to chase Bruce around so much that he didn't have the chance to come out from hiding when Bloodgore was awake. Anyone think that would be a good idea?
