Hooked on his reflection

Is there a good way to get my betta to not stare and flare at his reflection on the back of the tank?

Heres two pics of him not taking his eyes off himself.

Haha Leon is the same way. I guess if you have a light in the tank you could try turning it off more often.

My Burple would spend almost all day going back and forth in the back of his bowl flaring at his reflection. It was so cute. I just wish he'd do that to the front where I could see it.

You could change the background (but it looks gorgeous like that...) or add more planting in the back. Or more decorations in the back.

I think he gave up on trying to fight himself, hes claimed this fake rock thing as his territory and spends most of his time inside with just his head poking out and chasing anything near it away, so i guess living in a rock is an upgrade from attacking a wall.

Haha, there you go, he gave up.
He came to terms with himself in his reflection.
So cute.

I only wish my cat was that smart, been a year and he still thinks that by reaching his paw around the back of the tank he will be able to get the fish or the hamster.

But this betta seems to be gettin the hang of things, still spends a lot of time in his tree thing but is venturing all over the tank more often. Plus he goes well with the fancy guppies with thier red tails.

Aww poor little fishy, they can be so aggro!

Glad he gave up, but if he starts again, I agree with adding more plants and decorations to block the wall he sees a reflection in. On of my boys was obsessing over his reflection and biting his tail, and when I added a ton of plants over that wall of the aquarium, he seemed to feel safe again. Also, we found that having a backer on the aquarium actually made the reflections he saw more intense, but everyone's set up will be different. :)
