Giant Betta, special care?

I read they have a harder time with digestion? What other things are different, besides bigger caves

Sorry about the delay, ROM.

Some giants have delicate digestions. Good quality food is important, like New Lifw Spectrum Betta pellets or Omega One Betta Buffet. Frozen bloodworms or frozen brine shripmp for occasional variety. And occasional frozen Daphnia for roughage.

They eat a lot more than standard-size Betta, but be careful not to overfeed. This is a judgement call. Feed less, more often.

They put out a lot of ammonia. So minimum 5g tank, cycled and (if you can) planted. Weekly 50% water changes to remove dissolved waste and replace minerals.

Other than that, they're the same.

Welcome to the forum.

okay, thank you. He'll have 10 gallons. I have never had plants but I would love to get some. Been thinking about some Jungle Vals, love the look and supposedly their hardy.

Now that you have this thread running, look below here at the "similar threads" for more feedback. Not guaranteeing the accuracy of the info on all those threads.

Here's another good thread about giants.
