Question Acceptable tank?

Could this tank use more plants? I can't find a cave/hidey hole that won't rip his fins, so i used a high gloss coffee cup instead... what do you think?

It's pretty nice! Only I would put the water a bit higher.
The high gloss coffe cup is fine, according to the other convos I've heard on this forum.
I think the amount of plants is fine, too. ;)

More water & more plants

The cup is fine. Your fish doesn't care what his cave looks like!

I agree - more plants, more water. :)

yeah, I plan on doing both in the near future... my water just evaporates faster with the heated water... just asking what it looks like for now

It looks great so far! Like what was said above, I would get a couple more silk plants for him to hide in. :)

You must have some pretty bad evaporation - mine isn't close to that, haha. Or at least I don't let it get that far. I just add in water every couple of days.

Keeping the water shallow isn't a bad idea. I say put him in w/ it shallow, and then increase the water level very slightly on a gradual basis. Look for behavioral changes.

Do you have a full hood, or something covering the top for no escapes? If so, fill the tank with water all the way up to the black frame. He will LOVE the extra space.
