Anacharis question

I have a question on the trimming or pruning of anacharis. Do I just cut off and discard the top and leave the bottom planted when I want to trim it?

I've heard that you can replant the cuttings. Is this true?

The bottom half thats already planted won't die when I cut the top off will it?

It's duckweed, man! Good luck trying to kill it!

Plant it in the substrate, and it'll grow. Cut it and plant the ends, it'll grow...and the bottom part will keep growing too. Heck, don't plant it and just let it float around the aquarium, and it'll grow!

My only advice is to try to keep roots whenever you can get them, because it'll be easier to keep the stalks down in the substrate.

Seriously, if you can find a way to kill duckweed, there's a few European cities that would LOVE to hear about it.

Hahaha, thanks Mister Sparkle!

What do you mean by keeping the roots whenever I can get them? Do you mean when they grow keep them?

Also, attached to a few of the stalks are what appear to be little seeds hanging by fishing line. Are these the bulbs or whatever you'd call them?

What you should see are buds growing right off the parent plant, like a new branch. Coming from the other side will be a couple white strings...those are the roots. I usually lose part of the parent stalk when I'm trying to keep the roots attached to the "babies."
