Well I have three Wal-Marts near me. One stopped selling fish, but the other two continue on.

Thank you everyone!

I have question:
I want to clean him every other day, but I am worried he will be stressed and even more upset. I was thinking of waiting, but I don't want Ammonia build up and add fin rot to him. So how should I go about that?

He is in a 1/2 gallon, which I am looking for a bigger tank for him. But I could set up my 1.5 gallon Kritter Keeper, if that would be better for right now.

Yeah it probably would. I would still do daily water changes although. It will really help him heal to have clean water.

Well I was worried that he would get stressed from the changes. Okay, I will go do that now.

I second the having a thread dedicated to the fish rescue stories.

Go you two! I love there are so many nice people out there to save fish.

I live in Maine, so when Walmart stops selling fish I have to drive a half-hour to 45 minutes to get to a Petco and/or Petsmart (there are one of each) to get Betta, I would rather people just DO THEIR JOB and take care of these LIVING creatures! How hard is it to check every hour or two to make sure some punk kids aren't torchering the fish and that they are fine. They are getting paid if nothing else so suck it up and just do your job. Seriously I wish you could call the cops or something for animal/mammal cruelty. (Sorry for the rant, I am constantly hating Walmart more and more)

Me, too, MozartOwner.

Okay he is in the Kritter Keeper. I add some plants and he is hiding in them, poor boy.
