Do IAL really work?

I have had quite about enough of using API AQ salt, my bettas fins look worse now than they did before I started treating him with fin rot. I have followed advice of daily water changes and now I am looking for a better methodthat is effective. I see people using IAL a lot and wonder whether they do actually work? I don't see how since they are just leaves.

I was treating my betta (for fin rot) with Aq salts...for about 3 weeks...i saw small white balls on the end of his fins and re-growth was there but it was slow.

I put an IAL in my tank and within 5 days i saw significant re-growth and after about a week i am seeing a HUGE improvement!

Im not sure about Oak leaves but i definately think IAL work!

From what I have read people tend to swear by them so where can I get these ''magic leaves'' from?

I was lucky, my LFS sells them. I hear some people get them online...not sure where tho...perhaps ebay.

I paid $8.99 for 10 leaves....there is a great link for IAL in another thread, try the search option.

Yes, they can be bought on eBay! Some sellers try to sell IALs that weren't cured/dried properly, so it's best that you should read each seller's feedback before choosing an ebay listing to bid on

My LFS doesn't sell them as I found out today when they laughed at me and asked where I get my information from. I think I will try ebay since they are less rude lol

Oh, I forgot to add:
You might be able to find a product called a "betta spa" (I forgot what the brand's name is/manufacturer) In any case, the kit contains IAL extract~ You're probably more likely to find this in your LFS in the meantime!!!!!! It took at least 2.5wks for me to receive my IALs in the mail (thailand-->canada)
