A noob's 10-gallon

Hey all,

So, with the help of betta masters here, I have set up a planted tank! I added CaribSea's Eco Complete substrate, two java ferns, and one anubias plant (the giant kind, I was told). I tied one of the ferns onto a piece of driftwood with some thread and one with a rubber band (that one was giving me a hard time when I tried thread).

I also put in two Coralife bulbs, which are 10W each.

I made a makeshift sponge filter, which I doubt is working correctly . I ordered a legit one online, so I am set in the filter department. So yeah, that is where I am at! I have some pictures for you to see. I will not add Mr. Darcy my future betta until cycling is complete and not until I make a little coconut house for him.

Pardon the ghetto tank. I had to cover the feeding hole with a piece of cardboard and masking tape because the person who sold it to me lost the part.

Suggestions for low-light plants would be greatly appreciated! I would love to fill in some of the space in the foreground. I feel like I have enough large plants as of now.

- nach.

Looks good so far! Aw, it's not a ghetto tank, you do what you can with what you have. :)

Amazon swords and Cryptocoryne require low light. Java moss requires low light, but I hear grows quickly. And a floating plant would be duckweed. Also, looks good so far.

Thanks everyone. I will probably get some of those plants you mentioned, JadeBetta.
