20-watts per gallon is a bit high. The problem is that you could wind up dealing with temperature changes occurring very quickly. You generally want to have between 5 and 10 watts per gallon.

Well, it's better than nothing! I might just bring the temps up to an "ideal" range gradually, with smaller adjustments to the heater.

I think our next step is a filter...one night and it looks pretty foggy already. Ill do a 50% water change tomorrow so I can let some water sit over night so its near the right temp and I wont have to remove Bob.
