filtration in a divided tank

We have a 10g tank with two bettas, a divider, heater and filter. We have plants, gravel and hiding areas for each.

The filter sits at one end of the tank because of the hood cutouts and the divider. It seems like the water doesn't flow as well on the other side. Is this ok? The fish on this side has a really nice bubble nest going.

The fish on the filter side seems ok with the water flow and seems to be thriving. I just want to make sure it's ok to leave the filter on one side and wonder if I should switch it back and forth.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

The filter is ok where it is. Bettas don't like strong flow anyways.
