If you ever find somewhere, do let me know. I know an lfs in Edmonton who used to have a tank of them but they were going for 20 bucks for 1/4 cup.

Look into starting your own culture if you ever find any- you will know for a fact they are clean and you won't have to buy so many.

A singe pound will cost around $80 shipped out of California. Bump the order up to 4 pounds & it drops to around $40 per pound. One of the major producers in Cali is in the process of redoing his setup, so they are in short supply everywhere. I usually get in 25 pounds at a time, lucky to see 5 lately. Once the weather breaks he'll be up to normal production, maybe 4-8 weeks out.

maybe the website i saw is the one you're talking about. that price has shipping included already so its not bad really.
maybe some fellow canadians would want to do a group buy.
from what I read about blackworms is that they are very good and also can stay alive in yoir fish tank longer that's why I want to buy some and start my own culture

You might get hit with fuel & distant area surcharges on to of that, depending on your location. Shipping from the US to Canada is where you get hammered price wise, I pay a fraction of that Cali to Chicago.

They'll stay alive in a freshwater tank until something comes along to eat them. Several of my customers use them as a vacation feeder of sorts, toss in a bunch, go out of town for a few days to a week. You can culture them yourself, you'll need to devote a tank to only that.

A group buy would be your best bet, unless you plan on culturing & feeding long term. They ship the same as fish, just need to be kept cold rather than warm.
