OK! Story time!!!!
So my Mom took me to That Pet Place on wednesday and I was kinda secretly planning on getting something.. I walked in and I was the only one looking at the bettas. (that's a good thing, no competition. LOL) They had VTs, CTs, HMs Dragons, and DBTPKs! (Who were half giant from the looks of it, they look exactly like king bettas except they were DBTs.) I love double tails, but sometimes I don't really like DBTPKs. But....
I found something I've been wanting for a LONG time!!!!! A double tail female!
Isn't she ADORABLE!? (Don't worry, she and Trixie aren't together, my new girl is in a big hurricane glass)
I wasn't quite sure it was a she when I got her, but now I'm certain..
She's got short ventrals
a very very visible egg spot
I named her Itty, because for the first day I was calling her and It instead of he or she. LOL and because she's the opposite of itty bitty! She's huge!! (half giant, pretty sure)
So your thinking, that's it?? NOPE!!!
I went to walmart too!
My Mom and I went to walmart and she went off and did her stuff, so Joey and I went to the pet section like we always do. :) Just regular VTs and CTs... no females. So I just kinda looked over them all real quick then looked at the other fish, expecting my mom to come and get me soon. But.. I had a lot of time so I went back and looked at the bettas again. Then when I was standing there... (I swear this is true) I heard a little voice in my head say "Look at their Pectorals..."
(I'm always on the lookout for bettas with long pectorals, I love the look!) And I was like
yeah right, doubt there will be any. But guess what!?! THERE WAS ONE!!!!!!!!!
I present: Dumbo!!!! (he has the grumpiest face I've ever seen on a fish too!)
Those pics of him and wolfie are for all you Wolfie fans. :)
I had a conversation with the walmart employee after I finally decided to get him.
Him: So you finally decided on the red one??
Him: Just keep the reciept for three days.
Me: You mean if he dies??
Him: Umm yeah...
Me: Oh, well I have 13 other bettas at home, so I think he'll be fine. :)
Him: OH MY, do you keep them all in the same tank??
Noo... I keep them in large divided tanks.
Him: Hmm.. *walks away*
Well hope you enjoyed!!!
