One (Almost) Tailless Rescue, One Self-Indulgent Purchase

I went to Petco today to get my money back on the poor, deceased Russell, and ended up with the Cambodian HM that's been there for at least two weeks. Or at least they say he's a halfmoon, but I can't really tell. I'd call him tailless except for MustardGas's really and truly tailless rescue! At the moment I'm not so much concerned with the tail as with getting him to eat. So here's Galahad:

And then, while I was at Wal-Mart, I stopped by the fish section and spotted this boy. There were a few others I wanted, including a beautiful little butterfly CT in a horribly dirty cup and a very pale yellow/pastel VT, but I ended up with Jack here. His ventral fins are completely curled back on themselves, but I'm going to try and soften his water and see if they don't get a little better. If not, oh well--they don't seem to be bothering him in the slightest. And what would you call his color? The pictures are pretty true-to-life in that regard. Oh, and I promise the plastic plants are temporary. I just wanted to give him something while I try to procure a live plant for his tank.

Aww! I feel so bad for the boy with the fin rot! I'm sure he'll heal up nicey with you. ;)
And your crowntail is gorgeous. He looks pretty big!

I think Galahad's been biting rather than coming down with fin rot, but I'm hoping to keep him as stress-free as possible. His neighbors are my tank of guppy fry, so hopefully he won't spend too much time flaring at them.

Jack's a little on the large size, but he's not as big as the pictures make him out to be. He's just in a weirdly-shaped tank, lol. I hadn't realized it before, but he does look humongous in that first picture...

Wow! Jack looks just like my Deimos (avatar) in real life-my avatar doesn't show his real colors. People seem to be finding red coppers all over the place!

Even if those aren't his real-life colors, I can imagine that they look exactly the same, lol. They look pretty darn close even as it is!

And thanks for the compliments and well-wishes, all. :) Galahad's still not eating, but I'm going to keep trying.
