Betta emergency! Urgent!

A little background. I have had my beautiful crowntail for about a year and he has always been very active. Well about 2 months ago he got finrot and I gave him meds and he started to recover. But about 2 weeks ago he began to spit his food out when i tried to feed him and this morning he was at the top of the tank floating on his side. Now he lays almost on his side on the bottom barely breathing and only comes up every so often for air but he really struggles to swim up to the top. Is he dying?! What's wrong?! PLEASE HELP! :(

I would try lowering the water level for him if he is having trouble swimming so he can access food. You could try adding a new food to stimulate his interest.

How is the water temperature?

It almost sounds similar to swim bladder disease but it is hard to say. Did you over feed him a bit before he stopped eating do you know? Or did he have any injuries you know of?

No I overfed him last year when I first got him and he became bloated but I fasted him for a few days and he recovered. And no, no injuries. He just lays at a 45 degree angle at the bottom of the tank unless he gets air.

Just some basic questions...what size tank is he in? What's the temperature of the tank? Do you have a heater? How often do you clean the tank a week? How much do you feed him per day and what do you feed him? What was the medication you gave him? Sorry for all the questions.
