yea. that's what I thought. I was going to get one for 10 dollars, but I didn't know if it came with a hood or not cus the person never emailed back. Today i am going to go buy two 2.5's (if they have three I just might go ahead and get them now since I am going to set everything up this weekend) and another submersible heater. I need to get two of my boys (Phantom and Firedrake) that are suffering the greatest out of there. I am going to wait to take out Firefly cus he seems fine in there. Speedbump and his buddies can't come out yet cus that means two tetras, three cory cats will have to stay in jars too until sunday and that won't be fair.

So I believe this is what I approximately spent on this whole adventure so far (including future expenses till I set everything up):

Three 2.5g Tanks: ~ $42.00
3 submersible Tetra 50w's: ~ $45.00
4 Hydor LED Multi Lights: ~ $48.95

Accessories:

Small Rock Garden Decoration for Firefly's: ~ $4.00
Gravel for Lyre's KK (Didn't want to use the sand, too hard to clean in a little tank): ~ $4.00
Pimafix for torn fins: ~ $9.00

Total: ~ $152.98!!!!!!!!!! YIKES!! WAYY over budget :( :( :(

If I sell all my fish tank stuff I don't need then I can get ~ 190.00 to offset the cost and I am trying to sell a few textbooks too.. this means I can beg my mom to buy that last 2.5g for my bday coming up??? LOL. I hope so...

Why don't you just get plastic craft mesh and silicone the dividers in place...then w/c will be easy and fish won't get in the others section.

I cannot maintain a big tank at this time. I only have a siphon a bucket and a 2.88L Bottle to clean and pour back in water with, it is very time consuming, and it is much easier to have smaller tanks. (I cannot get the siphon to pour water back into the tank) I know for the time I have my bettas I will be a lot happier with smaller tanks. One day I will have a 55g again and that will be when I am not caring for bettas anymore.

oh, my mom said she'd get me a 2.5g tank. maybe I can weedle her into getting me the other 2.5g I need too :P

So, some of you might know that poor Lyre passed away sometime during the night.

I am not going to use my Kritter keeper for another betta because it is an old one anyways I don't want any accidental cracks plus it hold ~ 1 less gallon than a 2.5 so my mom bought me two 2.5g tanks! :D and I am going to buy one too. So in total I will have four 2.5g tanks and that lady I was going to purchase that $15 10g from sold it even though I was the 1st she said okay to, so my BF is going to buy me a 10g with a hood from the store! I have a wonderful family :) :)

AND there has been this SOLID white halfmoon at petco since I got Firefly (which was a few months ago) and every time I go in there I see him and want him so bad but can never get him, cus I have my limit in fish right now, but BF said he'd buy him for me too!!! (did I say I have an awesome family already??) all I need to buy for that last tank is a heater.

when I get him and set up all my tanks I will post pics up in thread where you can post pics of betta homes and make a "meet...(whatever I name him)" thread on here :D

My new list of totals is:

One 10g (that BF is buying): ~Not sure yet, I am sure walmart has 'em for cheap or we might just get it at petco while we are getting the betta.
Two 2.5g Tanks: ~ $28.00
Two 2.5g tanks (that my mom bought): ~$28.00
3 submersible Tetra 50w's: ~ $45.00
4 Hydor LED Multi Lights: ~ $48.95

Accessories:

Small Rock Garden Decoration for Firefly's: ~ $4.00
Gravel for Lyre's KK (Now going into my future new boy's tank): ~ $4.00
Pimafix for torn fins: ~ $9.00

Total (that I spent): ~ $138.95

And I saved: ~ $28.00 (plus whatever the 10g costs since they were my bday presents :) )
