My male VT had a really terrible case of fin rot a number of weeks ago (that's what I get for leaving him in the care of others when I'm away!). He was practically fin-less at the worst point.
He's so much better how- has great dorsal, ventral, and pec fins. The only issue is his tail fin. It's short and clamped, and doesn't seem to be growing, despite the fact that his other fins are all growing. When he flares at his own reflection or the females he can see through his tank, everything gets big and impressive except the tail fin.
He's kept in 2.5 gallons at 75 degrees; under a lamp; full water changes once a week with Nutrafin, Stress-Zyme, and Bettafix; eating four pellets per day.
Everything else is good- he's happy, active, bubble nesting normally, etc.
How can I fix his tail fin?!
