I hope Spiri is okay :( you are a good fish mom/dad. This makes me worry about having a divider thats only an inch and a half above the water... I wouldn't know what to do if one jumped in with the other, I'd be so heartbroken.

Thanks. :)
Fish mom. XD Yeah, I don't have a divided tank for that reason.

I would keep his tank warm and dark, for the time being. Any idea how long he was out of the tank?

It's crazy how high they can jump! The first weekend I had Calypso, she jumped out of the tall cup I had her in during a water change, right after I told my mom that bettas need lids on their tanks because they jump. x_X Was like..."did you really need to prove my point?"

Yep, he has a dark cloth over his tank (he has a heater, always has and always will.)
I don't really know as to how long he was out of the tank... he was a teeny bit damp when I picked him up though.

He probably wasn't out for too long then. From my experience, fish who jump from the tank dry out very quickly...x_X

I sure hope so. As to his fins... I guess he wrecked them by flailing around too much...?

My poor girl got a nasty scratch when she jumped out. I almost had a heart attack when I saw her on the floor . . . say what you will, but you're never prepared for nasty surprises like that. Since then, she's jumped out twice more, both while I was watching her. *rolls eyes* I'm surprised by the height she got, actually . . . lol.

Yeah, when I saw Spiri on the floor.... I went "OMG... AHH... WHAT DO I DO!" for about half a second then picked him up and plopped him in. XD
That's one brave girl you have.... jumping out of her tank while you were watching! Wow!

When they dry out the fins are so much more fragile, so if there was carpet, then that could have torn the fins a lot.

My room is hardwood. But I understand they could have torn anyway..... Bad example, but... you know how you put wet paper onto a hard surface, leave it for a few days, then try to tear it off, and some of the paper still sticks onto the surface? () Yeah, I'm assuming it was like that.
