I have a 10 gallon tank with one betta, Helios, and one platy, Nemo, leftover from some bad advice from a Petco salesperson (who told me 6 platies in a 10 gallon was a good idea...somehow Nemo must be a superfish to have survived that).
I bought a bamboo shrimp, he moulted while I was at work and came out a spectacular red color, but also died.
So I went back to the pet store to buy another bamboo shrimp, but all they have left were ghost shrimp. I bought 3. I put 3 in, one disappeared immediately and I never saw it again.
On Thursday, this is three days ago mind you, I saw two of the three.
On Saturday I came home and saw a skin in the tank, but no shrimp.
Today I did some much needed tank maintenance, siphon vacuumed, took the ornaments out and wiped them down, did a water change...and never saw those two shrimp! I figured they'd be in the ornaments but they were not.
Did my betta eat the molted shrimp? Is that possible? They weren't teeny tiny! Where the heck did those little things go?!?!
