Question Safely moving bettas?

In about two weeks i am planing on moving to a city that is 7 hours away from where i currently live. I have three bettas that i am taking with me and i'm really really worried about how they will handle the trip. I have their original containers they came in so i was thinking i might put them each in their own - obviously- and then put the containers in a box. then i was going to wrap a towel, (or two), around the containers so they're in there snugly that way the bettas won't see each other nor will the containers move around too much or tip. the only things i was wondering about were:

- should i cover them up completely on top as well? they have never been exposed to the outside sun's rays so they prefer it a little more dim. Will the sun's rays hurt them if they are exposed for a long amount of time?

- will they be stressed out by the water conditions in the new city? i know the elements in water can't be the same everywhere but is there enough of a change to stress out a betta?

any comments, answers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

i would put the fish in pet store baggies, then wrap in towel and put in small box. or you can take tubaware and poke a small hole in the middle of the lid for air and take them that way....maybe. sorry these are only suggestions cuz ive never moved before. sorry...

People have kept them in thermoses before, since they're dark and maintain temperature pretty well. But you probably don't have three thermoses, so.. Maybe just some cups (like cups like the pet store puts them in) or fish bags, wrap them in a towel, and cover them in a cloth.
