What light is in the Walmart kit? Incandescent or fluorescent?

Incandescent.
I just bought a normal spiral CFL in the light aisle to replace it.

Nice shopping list, but the Rock Garden looks like it comes with plastic plants. Those can be hard on a betta's fins Silk plants are much safer & live plants are the best, IMO.

BTW, just got the Tetra 5 gal. tank & set it up this morning. So far, my boy Duke seems to be enjoying it. :)

Yeah i noticed that, i'm thinking about just taking it off the rock, and leaving the cave in just for a place for him to hide. and just grabbing some silk plants and putting them next to/around the cave

Thinking about making some last minute changes... i might get a 10 gallon tank from petco and buy this filter. (http://www.petco.com/product/102601/...FishFC_Filters)
Anyone ever had experience with that?

5 gallons is good - 10 is BETTER, IMO!!! :)

Don't know anything about that filter - never had one. Sorry!

I got a 5 Gallon tank with a tetra whisper filter(i couldve gotten a 10G tank for the SAME PRICE AS the 5G but i had no roomD:) anyways, im gonna let it everything run for a day and make sure everythings right before i put my betta in. But one question.. I have a ceramic cup that i made in my ceramics class and i was wondering if this is safe to put in? it has a paint on it, but it was fireburned and i'm very sure it wont chip/flake and the paint makes it very very smooth. and on the parts that are not smooth because there is no paint(intentional) i could sand it out to smoothen it.. Heres a picture. I did actullay put it in for about 2 minutes, and i saw that it was making little air bubbles. Good or bad? please let me know because there's not really any place for him to hide rightnow because i didn't get the rock garden piece.
