I made some "food" with garlic juice, is this okay

To speed my tail biters recovery it was suggested I soak his pellets in garlic juice
I ended up chopping up a bunch of garlic and heating it in hot water to make garlic juice, then I put the pellets in the juice and have been keeping it in the fridge, I have been feeding this for a few days to all the bettas, and they seem to love it. Pellets main ingredient is krill.
Does this sound right? When do I need to make a new batch? How long do I keep the garlic juice treatment up?
My small betta has become bloated and no poo for a few days, I wonder if this is related, I am going to start fasting him.

Garlic like any other food will go bad even if in the fridge. I wouldn't keep it for more then 3 days before making more.

I keep my pellets mixed with garlic in the fridge for at least a week. I make a batch every sunday unless I happen to have a lot left over. I've been feeding garlic pellets for about 6 months and have never had it "go bad".

I use the juice from minced garlic I buy in the jars at the grocery store. This is much easier, and a lot less messy. It has preservatives in it so it should be able to stay in the fridge longer. I use my open minced garlic jars for a few months at a time, until I run out. That's what they're made for so using the juice with fish food should last longer than 3 days.

My reasoning behind the 3 days is because that is how long they say to keep opened baby food in the fridge, same idea right?

Well, my family is addicted to garlic XD we have always have a tubberware of freshly mashed garlic in the fridge for cooking, and sometimes it can last us a month, I've never had garlic go bad, I don't think you have to worry too much about it. Tossing your batch out every week and making a new batch is probably a good way to be safe though.

:D That's great, and a good idea. I've got my fingers crossed for you, hopefully it'll be quick and without problems! As for a filter, I've got the aquaclear 20, it works beautifully, and I'm able to adjust the flow. Apart from that though, I don't really know about any other filters.
