Help?!?!

My newest betta fish Damien is having some trouble swimming....He will lay on the bottom of his tank for about 5 minutes and then he will quickly start swimming around normally and lay again to rest...He's missing alot of his bottom fin...Is that why he is doing it? Also he shows no interest in food but I have only had him for 2 days so I'm not very worried about it...Is there something more wrong with him? Thanks for reading!

Sorry about your fish
Do you have him in a heated tank? How big is it?
He still might be in shock from his new surroundings but keep a good watch on him.

I have a betta who behaves like that normally, he spends a lot of time on the bottom under the leaves of a plant. He still swims around a lot and is very lively but that's just his favorite spot to be.

He's in a heated 5 gallon right now. If he keeps doing this should I be worried or do you think this is just what he does?

I'm sorry about Damien! <=[ He's such a cutie! I hope he gets to feeling better or that he just likes swimming around and resting like that! <=]
