A few months ago, before Christmas, I was in Petsmart getting things for my cat and went to see how th bettas were doing. This particular store isn't that great with their fish care, so I wasn't expecting much ... until I saw a gorgeous array of newly shipped bettas. I had my eye on a dark red marble CT, with a solid black dorsal and a clear tail ... he was so handsome, active, flaring, healthy, bubblenest around the rim of his cup. But I couldn't get him at the time and walked away. A few months later I was back at the same store. I was checking out the bettas yet again, and saw the same CT. His fins were shrivelled up, he looked so thin and sickly, his water was disgusting ... I wanted to get him, but chose Ghost instead. I haven't regretted getting Ghost because I love him dearly, but I do think about that beautiful CT quite often and what could have been.

I saw one on Monday...a dragonscale that was at my petco, red and white just like Alduin was, and a veiltail as well. I want so badly to get him, but the only tank I have right now is a .5 gallon Betta keeper that I got for use as a hospital tank...so I cannot rescue him. He looked kind of lethargic today, when I went back and he was still there. I want him sooooo badly, but I do not have the $ for another tank, and Im pretty sure the BF would kill me. What made him catch my eye is the fact that he's pretty much the same colors as Alduin was, and the fact that I have NEVER seen a DS at this petco, and as far as I know, they dont stock them, and he was the only one.
