Talking Woohoo!!

I FINALLY got my betta simorum!
He is my first wild betta and I think im falling in love with them. He was cheap too! Only $10.00.
He is only about 2 inches. How old do you think he is?

Also what foods are best? He didnt pay attention to flakes.
And what gender?

Make sure your tank is well-covered. Wilds will jump out of the smallest space and I use cling wrap over all of my wild betta tanks as there is nothing more devastating than finding your fish dead/dying on the floor.

I can't see the picture, but most wilds will readily eat live and frozen foods. Mouthbrooders tend to be more inclined to eat dried foods such as pellets, but some are fussy and so you may have to gradually wean it over.

I would recommend pellets over flakes. Flakes are more for smaller fish and simorum grow quite large if I remember correctly.

That's good to hear. Wilds are notorious jumpers. Would hate for you to lose your new purchase.

Any plans on getting another one? Wild bettas are very addictive. I started off keeping splendens and now I am totally into wilds.

I had gone to my LFS to get some betta imbellis, but the imbellis were not in any condition to be bought.
So I wondered the store and found this beauty! So I do plan on going back and getting the imbellis and maybe a betta simplex or two

I think you have to upload it to something like photobucket as I am not seeing any photos.
