Red face Percussion or Flute

So I am joining band for my 2 class. I got accepted for percussion, but my mom wants me to do flute. Which should I choose?

Oh darn, I was going to vote flute but if you like percussion then go with it! I'm personally a flute player! Although I only play for church now and in Marching Band I'm a Tenor Saxophone which is my real instrument now lol ^_^ Tenor Sax Represent!

So I'm not going to vote though, which one do you feel you would have most fun with and who you like the people in more? It's not only about playing pieces but about making some great friends with similar interests!!

I didn't vote because you should go with what you like. I took trumpet back in school but only because of my parents, I really wanted to take violin so I ended up quitting it.

I also think you should go with what you want to do. I know that may not help too much, but it's simple- do what will make you happier.

If you end up really enjoying playing music and continue for years the Flute may be more enjoyable to play for yourself solo, etc. I suggest you try listening to an incredible Flautist or Flutist named Hubert Laws for some inspiration, primarily a Jazz musician, also plays some classical Bach, etc.

Not only the instrument but look at the people, which group do you get along with more?

You have to do what you like but I voted for flute I always wanted to play when I was younger and my parents didn't let me. One advantage to a flute is that it's small, soothing and you can take most anywhere. That is why I like it but again do what you like the most,
