I always turn off the light when I go to bed, as her tank is in my room.

I took your advice and put a background on the tank. It doesn't stop her from fighting her reflection, but hey, it looks great!

I'll try adding white paper to the sides.

Are you positive its a female and not a young and or short finned male?

I'm positive it's a female. She has a white egg spot. I believe that's how you tell. Am I correct?

Not necessarily the white spot can also show on young males.

Males have longer ventral fins.

Males i think have shorter bodies than females, Females tend to have longer, rounder bodies, while males have shorter, flatter bodies.

Male Bettas as a whole have longer fins, while females have shorter fins. Although, PK males do have short fins, while some females can have really long fins.

I hope what i have said is right, if anyone wants to correct me please do so, i wouldn't like to give false information.

That's mostly correct, Andy. Body proportion varies from individual to individual and species to species. Females are generally a little wider and bulge a little around the ventral are.

Can we see a picture, bff?
