That's a black skirt tetra and a barb. Those ARE NOT good companions for a male betta. Tetras, especially black skirts and serpaes are horrible fin nippers. As for the barbs, they are aggressive fish and would get in big fights with your betta.

All need to be housed in groups, especially the tetras. They like a lot of swimming room, also.
