A combtail is just a PKCT. You would end up with longer rays again, but probably not as long as a traditional CT. Are you intending to breed? what is your desired outcome if you are wanting to breed them?

actually a combtail is a similar to a CT but without the 50% web reduction of the CT but not having the smooth appearance of a normal delta to HM tail, it's not a PKCT, that is a different fish entirely. Crossing a CT to a combtail will give you more web reduction moving the fry back to the standard CT finnage, further crossing to CT will complete this, ie crossing back to the father.

i believe missaygp does have the better definition here.
combtails by usually the F1 gen product of crossing a crowntail with a non fringed betta. the result are ray extensions and slight reduction but not as extensive or exaggerated as the crowntail. crossing combtails and crowntails together will give you an even more intermediate between the two: generally, an increased reduction and extension in comparison to the combtail, but reduced reduction and extension in comparison to the crown. eventually though with careful selection, you can produce new crowntails this way.
