Water change question

Hello everyone!

Just a quick question for you guys since i do believe i need to do some form of water change in my betta's 10 gallon but his waters now sits between 79 and 81 and my room temp is someone near the higher 70's. I 'm wondering how do I do the change? I have a 2.5 gal tub that i keep water in so i constantly have extra water just in case i'm just worried about the temp. Any help?

I have a 17 gallon container with handles, I fill it up with how much water I want to change. In my case 11 gallons every week for my 55. Anyway once I fill it up I have a spare heater. I hook it up in the container so it will get the water the same temp as my tank. Then I add it, another thing is it let's the water age a little. Which is less stress on the fish.
