Do you have a thermometer?

Your Betta's water should be warm. Right around 80. It shouldn't hurt you fish to go from cold to warm so long you you give it some time to adjust. (i.e. don't dump them right in. Give them some time to warm up slowly while still in the bag.)

yea when i noticed the differance i left the bag floating for about 15-20 mins... but if the water is too warm... my firend whom im not sure knows alot told me to put an ice cube in a bag and let it float in the tank... and take it out when melted..... i think this sounds dumb but is there any harm in it?

Yeah. I think the ice cube would shock the poor fish more than the warm water @_@ What your doing sounds fine.

Male and female bettas should NOT be housed together! They are VERY aggressive and will wound and/or kill each other! Please remove the females ASAP before someone gets hurt!! I noticed in another thread that you have a 2 gallon that you keep these guys in. In a two gallon, nothing can be kept with a betta, it is too small. Please take the females out and put them in a different container or return them to the store.

Here is more info males and females together. And here is a thread with extra information.

Yeah... the pet stores don't know too much. I work at petco and can't tell you how many times I've had to tell people "no, males and females cannot go together" and "no, you can't put a goldfish in a bowl" etc.
