AH I read it all and Code said that it was round and smooth =/ I'm starting to think he might have a tumor!! He doesn't seem bothered by it so I'm hopeing it will go away...It did start getting smaller and starting to go away last week but it got bigger now =/ How is your betta doing now? Is there anything I should be doing for Alex?? Could it be a parasite instead of a tumor? Sorry for all the questions just super worried!

I don't think it's a parasite, in my case, Whiskey doesn't flash or dart or do anything I've read about with infestation. He acts perfectly normal. He eats, he swims, he poops normally, he sleeps. He seems utterly fine.

It doesn't have to be a tumor though. If it had scratches, maybe he injured himself and he's got an abscess under his skin? I'd keep an eye on it and if it gets red or raw looking then address that issue. In the meantime keep things clean.

Oldfishlady may have more to offer on the issue of wounds. I only really have experience with Whiskey's particular issue. I've never had a wounded fish and don't really know what to do or what to look for.

Okay thank you! The scratches are autually gone right now..and the swelling went down for about a week...Then it's gotten like this again...I'm hopeing it's not a tumor but I guess I will just keep his water clean and keep checking on him. The scratches went away rather quickly...I've never really seen stress stripes do you think that's what the scratches could've been?? Sorry about all the questions! Also do you think I should move him into a hospital tank?

Thank you all..Tomorrow I think I'm going to move him into a hostpital tank but I'm not sure yet..He gets really stressed in smaller tanks..I will probably just leave him in his 5 gallon and keep doing water changes. Once again thank you all.

I'd just leave him where he is and keep his water clean and monitor him for changes.
