Hmmm...... I have a 3 gal. bowl that I keep one of my boys in that has a small internal filter in it AND a 25 watt heater. Some driftwood, a small anubius nana & some floating guppy grass & it's all good! :)

Wow, that sounds good! How much was it? Do you have a picture? Maybe it is just a case of getting the layout right. Thanks again.

Would LOVE to show you pictures of it & even took some pics this afternoon, but when I went to download them onto my computer it tells me the USB has malfunctioned!!! Grrrrrrr,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I will try to do something about that over the next few days.

I live in a very small town in a very rural area and found it at the variety store - it was on a lower shelf so God only knows how long it was there. It's an Anchor Hocking, very thick, heavy glass and I paid $10.00 for it. A steal, IMO! :)

Woah!! That sounds like a great bargain! Maybe I'll keep an eye open on Ebay or something. I'll look out for pics! Grrr, that happens with my camera phone as well!

It WAS a bargain, IMO!! The only thing comparable I could find on Ebay was a 2 gal. drum bowl that would have cost close to $30.00 in the door!!!

Granted, this bowl is not tall like a drum bowl, but much wider. Hmmmm..... will have to measure for fun when I go downstairs (the computer is upstairs & that fish is in the living room downstairs).

OK, got SOME of the pics to unload - still having trouble, though. Grrrrr.......... :(

The bowl is approx. 12" wide & 7" high with the opening being 8 1/2".
