Getting new bettas?

Unfortunately all my current bettas died from the 2 hour trip on my move. ....

I asked my parents to get me new ones and they said no.
Why, you ask?
It's because the last betta I bought, a halfmoon(Mars), cost about a total of $15.00(CAD).

Plus i'm thinking of getting a whole tank kit. I saw on Petsmart, that's 1.5 gallons for $24.

So I have about a total of $35 on this thing. Could of been $50, but I need to buy some algae eaters and other fish for my 10 gallon community, that I set up about 2 months ago(6 months after my move).

Right now these are the things I have:
-Water Conditioner
-Food(Betta Flakes & Bloodworms)
-gravel
-decorations

Things I need to buy:
-Aquarium(comes w/ 2 plants, light & filter)
-A small heater, good enough for 2-5 gallons.
-The betta fish!

k so. either i get a VT, CT, HM(hopefully my LPS is instock), and/or DT.
what do you think i should get?
i've had a VT, CT, DRCT, and a HM.

A pity about your poor fish. I would suggest getting a tank that is at least two gallons--I use and recommend this heater: http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.co...8&pcatid=11368

i think i'll go with the first one.
tanks that i'm not using are:
:1-20 gallon, ready to be set-up.
:1-5 gallon, no light fixture, heater.
:1-2 gallon, no light fixture, light or heater.
:1-1 gallon bowl.

plus I am avoiding on buying online because i'm located in Canada, which means larger shipping cost.

i saw the first tank in-store already. so yeah. :)
and what heater do you use?

i know. i was so sad when i saw them dead.
plus i already have this heater in my 10 gallon.
i think it would be too big for a 2 gallon.
