Question Buying Accessories

(God I'm a horrible speller)

Anyhow, I was wondering if people could point me to some good sites to buy good quality items. Some of the things I was looking for was:

Shopping List
-Driftwood for a 10g tank, in small pieces or one large-fitting peice
-A filter that hangs outside the tank, hopefully not to obtrusive to the eye. Right now I have a tetra whisper 3-10g filter in tank, its just totally unappealing =(
-A good heater for 10g
-Plants
-Cherry Shrimp, are they really expensive?

I believe thats all, my goal is to make this look like more natural, but with a modern beauty? If that makes sense -.-;

If you have any pet stores in your area, you could go to one of them because they probably sell those items. As for good sites I have some links:
Accessories: http://www.petsmart.com/family/index...D%26eacute;cor

Filter: http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2752295

Heaters: http://www.petsmart.com/family/index...xonomy|Heating

Shrimp: http://planetinverts.com/ or http://www.theshrimpfarm.com/
I don't know if these will suit your needs but I might as well post them.

I am no expert but in my area cherry shrimp are a couple of bucks each. I would start with a couple ghost shrimp to make sure your betta won't eat them as they are really cheap. If he is ok with them then go for some cherry's.

As for the driftwood. I recently did't an extensive online search. If you want real driftwood then I think ebay is the best place cuz you actually see what you are buying. Most online shops have a generic picture so you dont know what you will be getting and for me picking the perfect piece is important. I ended up buying this resin piece for the tank I'm in the process of setting up.

I buy plants locally so not sure on that one. And heater? lost of threads on heaters. I use the marineland stealth pro and I really like it.

Hi kokonoko

Www.designsbynature.net has some nice drift wood pieces. Plus they have some amazing backgrounds also. Drop them a mess on there site and let them know you have a 10 gallon tank. I recently purchased a background for a 10 gal , and few pieces of driftwood. They cut me a background size specifically for my tank and the drift wood pieces were broken pieces from larger pieces !!!

Do you have a pic of your background in your tank? I was thinking of ordering one as well.. Would love to see your set up.

I don't know where to point you for DW, but since I have a lot of tanks I will share my favorite filters/heaters.

Visitherm heaters are the best. 100%. I've found it's worth the extra money to get a GOOD quality heater. Seriously, trust me!!

There's a filter at walmart for about 12 dollars it's the Aquatech 5-15 HOB filter.
Another filter that is good is the Aqueon quiet flow filter. It's great and has lots of space for beneficial bacteria to grow.
Both of these filter will need to be baffled. See sticky in Betta fish habitats section.
