My 20 long is divided with 3 fish in it, finally! It works well, even if it isn't exactly the most professional job XD. Right now there's a betta in every other section so they can't see each other or get to each other.

For the dividers I used black needlepoint mesh, size 7, and poster "frames." Also I bought a fake ivy vine, cut it into 5, 13" pieces and attached the pieces to the dividers with cable ties.
The dividers are held in place either by being wedged in or wedged in with rubber bands at the top and/or bottom. The sand keeps the bottoms in place. The dividers were supposed to be 6" apart but that wasn't possible the way they curved so they're kind of erratic now.
The only section that doesn't get water movement from the filter is Alexander's, the furthest away (actually it does get a little water movement).
If you have any questions about it I will answer them so ask!
Your dividers don't seem very stable, but it looks pretty neat. I'd take some rocks and place them on each side of the dividers so they are straight across, but thats just me. Very neat :D Alexander is hilarious lol.

@Phloxly: They are stable, don't worry! I made sure of it. Some of them are slightly crooked because when I wedged them in they wouldn't straighten out all the way, but they aren't coming out. Also the angle of the camera can make them look weird. By straight across do you mean not bowed? And last of all, thanks!
Your tank looks great! I've got two tens split in to 4 compartments, so I know what you've been through...it really looks nice. You attached the silk plant to the dividers with small wire ties, correct?
Tank looks great! That Alexander you have is a great looking fish. Like the way you zip tied the plants to the dividers, makes them looks a lot more natural. When you say they are wedged in or held in place with rubberbands, where and how are they used?!
I did the plants so they would all have something to hide behind to get away from the flaring but you're right, it does look more natural.
The rubber bands was an idea I saw-you cut your edge piece so it comes really close to the lip of the tank, knot a rubber band and wedge it in between the edge piece and the lip which is supposed to hold it in place. However sometimes I had to use a rubber band at the top and bottom as well. Personally I think that the best idea is to cut the edge piece so you have to sort of force it under the lip because then it will stay by itself and holds better.
