Thought I'd post an update

After my little rant here
I thought I'd post an update how Bernard's going with his finrot , the treatment I got from my local pet store owner has worked amazingly well ,It's been nearly a week and 3 doses and his dorsal fin is looking really good - there's even regrowth started all ready on the membrane between the ribs for the fin

I'll probably give him one more dose today then stop , I'll just have to keep an eye on him but hopefully that's it for now.

If anyone interested the medication was "Aquarium Science Fungus and Fin Rot Medication" ,it was made here in Australia but it looks like the manufacturers were bought out and it's now made in Malaysia. One thing I found out is that the main constituent, (Acriflavine),can be harmful to aquarium plants and of course I didn't find this out till I dosed his tank (Note to self set up quarantine tank)
Found a store that sells Flourish here so I'll dose the tank and hopefully my plants should be ok.

Good to hear he is doing so well and very sorry about your poor plants.

Fingers crossed he has no more issues and can focus on being as fishy as he can possibly be.
