Question Did they just want to sell?

A asked a man at the pet store for a real plant to put in my Betta Fish Tank. He suggested this weird looking one and im hoping its one that is compatible with my fishie. I really don`t want him to become sick...and I`ve seen him try to swim through it and got scared he might get stuck ):

Plant description:

- It`s grassy green o-o
- The leaves are kinda long and rounded
- It has at least 4 extremeties to every "branch"
- It isn`t so big...
- He said it makes other plants fast

He didn`t even bother telling me what kind it was, he told me it was good for Bettas...I just wanna make sure it really is...Can someone out there help me? And I`d like to know what kinds of living plants is good for a Betta Fish in a 5 gallon aquarium...(He`s the only fishie in there.)

It could be green Cabomba without a pic im unsure.

Good plants for Bettas, Are Java moss Java fern, Anubias (cant spell it properly), Amazon swords(fairly more difficult to grow than the others).

Java moss and Ferns are rather good Ammonia eaters.

My Betta loves his Green cabomba.

plenty of other plants, Ill see if i can find you a full list

While some plants are better for a betta tank than others, and some plants Bettas "like" more than others, and some plants will grow better in typical low light low tech setups Bettas are in, I don't know of any aquatic plants that are harmful in any way to Bettas or non compatible. The biggest thing is probably light requirements of the plant, which we really need to see a pic to identify.
